Separation And Purification Of Natural Pyrethrins By Reversed Phase High Performance Liquid Chromatography

Natural pyrethrins are a mixture of six active compounds, and because of the similarity of their structure, it's very difficult to be separated and purified. We optimized the conditions of reversed phase high performance liquid chromatography ( HPLC), and separated and purified the six compounds by reversed phase HPLC from the pyrethrins oil. The purity of the six compounds was above 99%. The structure of the six compounds was confirmed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry ( GC-MS). The research provided an effective method of separating and purifying the six compounds by reversed phase HPLC from the extract of pyrethrins. It will be very useful to detect the residue of pyrethrins. It offered also an important method basis of functional research and pure product production of the pyrethrins' six compounds.
