Abstract
Introduction. Based on previous work, we hypothesized that a lower buffering capacity or low pH of saliva is associated with the presence of noncarious cervical lesions (NCCL), whereas a high occlusal index, as determined by the number of occlusal contacts in centric or excursive jaw movements is not associated with NCCLs.
