Heats of formation—gas chromatographic retention relationships for aliphatic hydrocarbons and alkylbenzenes

Based on the influence of the bindings energy in gas chromatographic retention, relationships between the retention indices, I, on squalane and the heats of formation, ΔHf, of hydrocarbons (alkanes, alkanes, alkynes and alkylbenzens) are found. Mean information indices of distances IED, for these compounds are used in order to improved the correlation coefficients of Iversus ΔHf equations.
