Information content of production models

Summary  The information content of the statement that the transverse momenta in production scattering are strongly cut is quantitatively defined. This measure of information is compared with the statistical mechanicla entropy both in the old limit of a pion gas at high temperature and in the new Hagedorn limit with bounded temperature. A criterion for classifying statistical countings is given.
