Abstract
Postmenopausal osteoarthritis and osteoporosis severely affects the life quality of the elderly.Bisphosphonates can suppress osteoclasts formation and inhibit bone absorption directly.They possess better efficacy and higher safety.Risedronate is one of the third generation bisphosphonates.This review describes the pharmacology and pharmacodynamics,clinical efficacy and adverse reactions of risedronate.
