Design and Realization of Timing Synchronization for PCM/FM Receiver

Timing synchronization is critical for a receiver.The analog demodulation method is very inflexible and it is hard to debug.For PCM/FM modulation commonly used in TTC system,a timing synchronization method has been introduced in this paper.DTTL is used to estimate timing error,interpolation and sampling clock control are used to achieve error correction.All calculations are completed by software,so the method is flexible.The results of simulation with Matlab and hardware test with VHDL code indicate that this method is fast in synchronization,precise in timing and suitable for implementation in FPGA.
