Abstract
Objective To investigate the safety and clinical application value of delayed gas enema with medicine. Methods 52 cases of intussusceptios who failed at the first time of recovery were selected for analysis during the period from Aug.2000 to May.2010.These children were given luminal for tranquilization and Atropin or 654-2 for spasmolysis;some of them with dehydration were given liquid to balance the electrolyte.30~45 minutes later they took delayed gas enema. Results After taking the delayed enema with medicine,39 children's intussusceptions were recuperated and the cure rate was 75.0%,without perforation of intestine. Conclusion With strict control of adaptive diseases, delayed gas enema is safe and effective.More than half of those who have first failed may succeed in recuperating intussusceptions, free of pain of anesthesia, with no need of operation and complications. It is of practical value in clinical-application.
