Abstract
Objective:To investigate mental health status and mental nursing of kidney-transplant-patients in community. Methods:Data were collected from sixty kidney-transplant-patients who had entered communities after operation. The data were analyzed by the use of symptom-self-evaluation table(SCL-90).Result:It was found that kidney-transplant-patients were in poor mental health.Particularly those who had a high education level were superior to those who had a low education level in mental health. Conclusion:The poor conditions of psychical health of the community-dwelling patients after renal transplantation are primarily due to long-time sufferance of diseases, heavy economic burdens and altered roles in family and society.Nursing should focus on building up social supports for the patients, improving patient education and giving them consultations on how to adjust themselves.
