Polarization studies of the two-dimensional electron-bound hole luminescence

The circularly polarized luminescence intensity of the radiative recombination between two-dimensional electrons and bound holes has been investigated at low temperatures as a function of the magnetic field. The results obtained under different experimental conditions and with different samples are compared with models including the spin character of the electronic gas. It is shown that these experimental results are not consistent with the description of the electronic fundamental state in terms of large spin Skyrmions for filling factors around 1.
