Abstract
This paper discusses some recent mathematical theories of politics and the problems on which they are focused. Such problems include collective decisions, competition, coalition and bargaining. The mathematics used in this work is mainly of a simple kind. It is intended that the paper will introduce teachers and users of mathematics to the application of mathematics in an area with which they may not be familiar.
