Circadian gene expression is essential for remodelling in heart disease

Circadian cycling has a dramatic physiologic impact on cardiovascular health and disease; heart rate, blood pressure, and patterns of heart disease all exhibit changes across 24-hour day/night cycles. Underlying molecular mechanisms are not yet understood, but represent a fundamental approach for elucidating how the heart meets differing demands between night and day, and importantly, how the heart remodels after injury or treatment.
