CARACTERIZACIÓN DE MUESTRAS ARCILLOSAS PROVENIENTES DE LA MINA DE NÍQUEL DE CERRO MATOSO (CÓRDOBA - COLOMBIA)

In the present work the solids studied are considered "clayed materials" according to some defini- tions (soil science, grain size, and geological) based on particle size fraction of the samples (< 0.2 mm). These materials were characterized by EPR, X-ray diffraction and X-Ray fluorescence. The results indicate that soils analyzed are rich in Fe2O3 and NiO, among other oxides. The waste ma- terial shows diffraction signals corresponding to minerals called enstatite (pyroxene). Moreover, the waste EPR analysis revealed a broad line around g = 2.1, corresponding to Fe3+ clusters into a complex vitreous matrix. An analysis at different temperatures was also performed.
