Abstract
The nanosized NixZn1-xFe2O4 particles were synthesized by hydrothermal method. The as-synthesized powder was characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). Pure NiFe2O4 powders were prepared at 200 degrees C for 5 h, and pure Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 powder could be obtained at 220 degrees C for 5 h. The gamma-Fe2O3 phase existed in the ZnFe2O4 powder when the hydrothermal temperature was 220 degrees C. The TEM results showed that NixZn 1-xFe2O4 nanoparticles was round, and the size of them was 10 similar to 20 nm. A test of magnetic properties indicates that the NixZn1-xFe2O4 is a soft magnetic material with good magnetic property. Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 nanoparticles show the largerest saturated magnetization, while ZnFe2O4 exhibits the highest coercive.
