Abstract
The MLHFQ regression model predicted 83% of score variance (F[18, 115]=36.02, p< 0.001). Significant independent relationships were noted between MLHFQ scores, social support, function (NYHA class), symptoms and depression. The SF12_PCS model predicted 63% of score variance (F[18, 115]=13.30, p< 0.001). Significant independent relationships were noted between SF12_PCS scores, function (NYHA class), symptoms, anxiety and depression. The SF12_MCS model predicted 60% of score variance (F[18, 115]=12.01, p< 0.001). The only significant independent relationships noted were between SF12_MCS scores, anxiety and depression. Conclusions: Patients reported poor generic and disease-specific HRQoL, despite receiving specialist healthcare, being younger and less functionally impaired. Findings indicate the importance of psychological factors in nonischaemic HF patients. Interventions and programmes of care aiming to improve HRQoL in these patients need to consider screening and treatment for anxiety and depression, improving functional ability and symptoms.
