Analyze a part of 16S rRNA gene sequence to identify a strain of Lactobacillus

Objective To identify a strain of Lactobacillus by using a part of 16S rRNA gene sequence and cluster analysis.Methods The gene of 16S rRNA from the strain of L.sp.L5 was amplified with the primers designed by the reported 16S rRNA sequence.The 16S rRNA sequence of L.sp.L5 was compared with other strains of lactic acid bacteria.Results The homology of L.sp.L5 with L.lactis was above 85.5%,but lower than 82.8% with Leuconostoc carnosu,Vagococcus fessus or Tetragenococcus halophilus.Conclusion L.sp.L5 may be a strain of L.lactis.
