Abstract
At ambient pressure Lu5Ir4Si10 is known to superconduct below 3.9K and to undergo a strongly coupled CDW ordering transition below 83 K. On the application of pressure the T-C is enhanced and a simultaneous decrease of T-CDWW is observed. However, the isostructural compound Lu5Ir4Ge10 does not show any CDW ordering as expected (at a higher temperature) from this pressure behavior. Here we present our DC susceptibility and resistivity measurements to show the evolution of T-C and T-CDWW with increasing Ge concentration in the alloy system Lu5Ir4(Si1-xGex)(10).
