以鄂尔多斯盆地冯地坑-洪德地区延长组长8油层组为例,重点通过对研究区铁元素地球化学特征的研究划分出湖岸线的大致位置,并进一步结合辫状河三角洲平原和前缘在岩性、粒度、沉积构造、生物化石、沉积层序等方面的不同特征,精确确定了研究区长8油层组时期辫状河三角洲平原与前缘的界限,即湖岸线的位置,为该区进一步的油气勘探和有利区块预测提供可靠的地质依据.
