CHEST(1974)
Abstract
This 29-year-old white male patient had an uneventful childhood and adolescence, developed dyspnea, insidious and exertional at first, but progressing within five months to total limitation of all activity. Repeated clinical examinations and cardiac catheterization revealed pulmonary hypertension without obvious valvular or congenital heart or lung disease. Secondary polycythemia was present from the beginning and pulmonary vascular disease involving primarily the intima was demonstrated by lung biopsy.
