Abstract
Background: It is important, but still difficult to identify heart transplant candidate. Iodine-123 Metaiodobenzylguanidine (MIBG) is metabolized in a similar manner to norepinephrine, and has been used to assess myocardial sympathetic nervous activity. Although myocardial MIBG kinetics is associated with the severity of heart failure, utility of this tracer for the selection of heart transplant candidate is unknown.
