摘要
Objective To explore the serum prostate-specific antigen level and digital rectal examination in guiding the prostate biopsy. Methods Transrectal ultrasound-guided needle biopsy of prostate was performed by 59 patients with an elevated serum PSA(4.0ng/ml) and abnormal findings on rectal palpation. Results 32(54%)of the 59 were diagnosed as prostate cancer on biopsy. The positive rate of biopsy in PSA 10ng/ml group was higher than in PSA10ng/ml grou(pP0.05)。The positive rate of biopsy in abnormal nodus group was higher than in no nodus group(P0.05)。Conclusions With the increasing serum prostate- specific antigen level, prostate biopsy had higher positive findings.Patient who have abnormal nodus in rectal palpation must perform prostate biopsy ,even in patient with PSA4ng/ml.
