Zeitmesstufe für den nanosekundenbereich mit der elektronenstrahlröhre E80T

The application of the cathode-ray-tube E80T in time-to-pulse-height converters (TPC) for time measurements in the nanosecond region is discussed. Several variants of circuits are described and compared with each other. It is shown, that the TPC can easily be adjusted to the different problems encountered in the measurement of very short times. As an example for the potentialities of application of the TPC the known lifetimes of two excited nuclear levels (80 keV level of Ba133 and 145 keV level of Pr141) were measured with satisfying result.
