Caracterización preliminar de atomizador neumático mediante anemometría de fase Doppler (PDA)

In this paper preliminary results of the PDA spray characterization are presented for the case in which a hydraulic oil is atomized by an air assisted nozzle. The aim of this work is to achieve detailed information of the spray structure produced by the nozzle at the same operational conditions that will be used in a 500 kW combustion chamber in spray combustion experiments. The main result about Sauter mean diameter is a smooth developed profile about L/d0 = 40 with D32 = 75 mm in the center of spray and a value of about 80 µm far from it. The velocity profile shows a Gaussian shape about L/d0= 20.
