Abstract
The technique of electroless nickel plating on ceramic powder was studied. Taking the relative weight increase of the powder as index, the influences of plating time, temperature, acidity and the content of complex agent, nickel ion and reducing agent on covering effect were explored, and thereby the optimal conditions were obtained. The micro-morphology of the electrolessly plated ceramic powder was analyzed; X-ray diffraction and energy spectrum analysis as well as its magnetic performance test were performed. The test results show that the optimal plating conditions are: 20 g/L NiSO4·6H2O, 10 g/L EDTANa2, 18 g/L sodium tartrate, 120~140 mL/L hydrazine, pH 13.0,90 ℃ and 20 minutes. The electrolessly nickel is well dispersed and evenly covered. The ceramic powder becomes magnetic after electroless plating.
