Knowledge structure und templates for information elements in validation procedures in CARS

The goal of this study is to participate in design of a consistent and hopefully widely accepted validation terminology and methodology for themes which relate Computer-Assisted Radiology and Surgery (CARS). As a first step, there is a need for a knowledge structure that represents the state of the art in validation methodology and specific validation methods in the context of CARS. Combined with this structure, we propose a method to navigate through the represented information elements and knowledge. To represent a common methodology for enabling comparison between interdisciplines, the different approaches to validation have to be merged, analysed, and evaluated. With this knowledge, a template for validation procedures can be build. Templates for specific interdisciplines, methods, modalities, etc., could be deduced from the master template.
