Change and significance of Th1, Th2, CD4+CD25+ T cells in peripheral blood of patients with asthma

Objective To investigate the changes and clinical significance of Th1,Th2,CD4+CD25+ T cells in peripheral blood of patients with asthma.Methods The levels of Th1,Th2,CD4+CD25+ T cells were determined by flow cytometry method in 52 patients with actue asthma (Acute group),56 patients with chronic asthma (Chronic group) and 60 healthy people (Control group).The ratio of Th1 and Th2 was calculated.Results The levels of Th1,CD4+CD25+ T cells and the ratio of Th1/Th2 in patients with acute asthma were lower than those in patients with chronic asthma and healthy people (P<0.05).The level of Th2 cells in patients with acute asthma was higher than that in patients with chronic asthma and healthy people (P<0.05).Conclusion The levels of Th and CD4+CD25+ T cells play a very significant role in disease activity of asthma and is the important reason for the maladjustment of cellular immunofunction in patients with asthma.
