Abstract
OBJECTIVE To establish a national level bacterial resistance surveillance network named Ministry of Health National Antibacterial Resistance Surveillance Net(Mohnarin) and get information about bacterial resistance for assisting clinical use of antibacterials and providing objective material in administration of antibacterials.METHODS All the bacterial susceptibility results from 84 tertiary hospitals around China from 1st June,2006 to 31st May,2007 were collected by unified protocol and the data were processed with WHONET software.Both disc-diffusion and automatic microbiological system methods for the bacterial susceptibility detection were acceptable.RESULTS A total of 108137 bacterial isolates and their antibacterial susceptibility data were collected during the survey period in 84 tertiary hospitals,which included 33 278(30.8%) Gram-positive and 74 859(69.2%) Gram-negative strains.Staphylococcus(22 012 strains),Enterococcus(8094 strains) and Streptococcus(3082 strains) were the most common Gram-positive isolates,Escherichia coli(20 987 strains),Pseudomonas aeruginosa(13 720 strains) and Klebsiella pneumoniae(10 533 strains) were the top three Gram-negative isolates.Meticillin-resistant S.aureus(MRSA) and Staphylococcus epidermidis were 56.1% and 81.0%,respectively;7.8% of Streptococcus pneumoniae were penicillin non-sensitive strains.Glycopeptides resistant Enterococcus were detected.More than 40.0% of E.coli and other enterobacteria were resistant to most of antibacterials monitored,quinolone-resistant E.coli was over 70.0% and 35.3% of the germ was extended spectrum β-lactamases(ESBLs) positive,especially.20.0-40.0% of non-fermented bacteria were resistant to their target agents.The resistance difference was found between ICU and non-ICU wards and among provincial areas.CONCLUSIONS The national wide bacterial resistant surveillance net is established.The bacterial resistance
