Survey of hbv/hcv infection among female sex workers in entertainment establishments in zhenjiang,jiangsu

[Objective]To explore the prevalence of HBV and HCV among female sex workers(FSWs)from entertainment places in Zhenjiang,Jiangsu.[Methods]Used self-designed questionnaire,FSWs were face to face interviewed with the trained investigators.And serum samples from subjects were collected for HBV/HCV screening.[Results]Among the 790 FSWs,the level of education was generally low,most of whom were younger and were from other cities or other provinces.The overall HBV/HCV positive rate in the studied women reached 29.06% and 1.59%.The prevalence of HBsAg and HBV was not correlated significantly with age,marriage,education level and work time.[Conclusion]The incidence rate of HBV/HCV among FSWs is at middle level.Thus more effective strategies should be tried in practice.
