Localized soft modes and ultrasonic effects in first order displacive transformations

摘要

Based on a previously published theory of localized soft modes as precursors of first order displacive transformations, explicit formulae for the ultrasonic attenuation and velocity change near the transition are derived and compared satisfactorily with experiments in TiNi, InTl and FeNi.
