15. A Case Series of Medically Refractory Neurosarcoidosis Treated with Infliximab

Introduction: Neurosarcoidosis is a granulomatous disease of postulated immune aetiology. Novel effective therapies are required as this disease often progresses despite standard treatment with a combination of steroids and immunosuppressive agents. Infliximab is a chimeric monoclonal antibody that inactivates the pro-inflammatory cytokine tumor necrosis factor alpha. It has a potential role in the treatment of medically refractory neurosarcoidosis based on animal data and a number of case series. We report our experience of three such patients treated with infliximab.
