Influence of temperature and composition of solvent on the structure symmetry of the Ni(II) thiocyanate complex

The influence of temperature and solvent composition on the structure symmetry of the nickel(II) thiocyanate complex was observed spectrophotometrically. It was shown that an equilibrium prevails between a tetrahedral and octahedral coordinated nickel(II) thiocyanate complexes. The results were explained in terms of the interaction between the inner anionic coordination sphere and the outer predominantly cationic sphere.
