Abstract
Objective This research is an attempt to collect information with regard to the existing problems on college teachers' ways of life in order that it will provide a basis for the prevention of diseases as well as formulation of health interventions related to college teachers. Methods By sending out ballot questionnaires of survey on Teachers' Unhealthy Ways of Life, the author conducted a survey on 239 subject-teachers of a certain institution of tertiary education, the collected data of which are analyzed thereafter. Results In line with the findings, those who have no sufficient understanding of how ways of life can affect human health account for 35.15%; those who have an imbalanced diet account for 53.39%; those who seldom or even never take breakfast, 15.48%; smokers, 12.55%; alcohol addicts, 8.79%; smoker-alcoholics, 7.53%; those who barely take exercise, 79.07%; those with sleeping hours less than 6 hours per day, 15.48%; those confronted with family problems, 52.77%; and a fairly large number of the subjects suffer from amnesia, aprosexia and insomnia. Conclusion College teachers' unhealthy ways of life, a common phenomenon as is reflected by the survey, merit primal attention. Integrated measures should be taken to change their unreasonable ways of life.
