Clinical trial of a new diuretic—MK-685

MK-685 (CsHI:ONTC1HC1), an as yet unnamed agent, is a new oral diuretic struc'turally unrelated to existing diuretics. In animals it increases the excretion of sodium withou:t increasing the excretion of potassium or chloride. In this paper we report the results of volumetric and biochemical studies in 15 subjects, 13 of whom had cardiac oedema.
