Study on MapX and GPS-based Oilfield Operating Platform Emplacement Service System

In order to meet the requirements of safe emplacement of offshore oil opera-ting platform,the service system for safe emplacement of oilfield operating platform was developed by using VB 6.0 development tool and MapX control unit and integrating GPS and GIS techniques,the service system can realize the real-time reception of GPS data and the dynamic and real-time display of operating state of operating platform(speed,direction and location),which provides the decision-making scheme for the safe emplacement of operating platform and helps the operators find out the best berthing place of operating platform without any harm to the submarine pipelines.
