Detection of Serum VEGF Level and Expression of MVD in Ovarian Neoplasm Tissue

Objective:To investigate the serum level of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) in patients with ovarian neoplasm and the expression of microvessel density(MVD) in ovarian neoplasm tissue;to evaluate the relationship with the clinicopathologic factors.Methods:The serum VEGF of 75 patients were detected by enzymelinked immunosorbent assay;including 45 ovarian malignant tumors,18 benign ovarian tumors and 12 normal ovaries.Their MVD expressions were analyzed by immunohistochemical methods.Results:①The serum VEGF levels in malignant ovarian tumors were higher than those of benign ovarian tumors and normal ovarian tissues(P0.05);the serum VEGF levels of late stages(Ⅲ、Ⅳ) in epithelial ovarian cancer were higher than those of early stages(Ⅰ、Ⅱ).②The expressions of MVD in malignant ovarian tumors were higher than those of benign ovarian tumors and normal ovaries(P0.05).Conclusion:VEGF and MVD may be play an important role in the angiogenic progression of malignant ovarian tumors;They have some extent clinical significances in diagnosis of ovarian neoplasms.
