The local anti-inflammatory properties of betamethasone 17-benzoate and 6α,9α difluoroprednisolone 21-acetate 17-butyrate

Betamethasone 17-benzoate, 6α,9α difluoroprednisolone 21-acetate 17-butyrate and several corticosteroids were evaluated in the local cotton pellet and local granuloma pouch bioassays. The minimum effective doses of the test compounds in the various test parameters and the relative anti-inflammatory potencies indicate that betamethasone 17-benzoate and 6α,9α difluoroprednisolone-21-acetate 17-butyrate are potent anti-inflammatory corticosteroids.
