阐述了ω(Omega)亚基是细菌RNA聚合酶(RNA polymerase,RNAP)的核心酶中最小的1个亚基。其在结构上主要是起到保护β′亚基、帮助β′亚基折叠并协助RNA聚合酶组装等作用。探讨了ω亚基在链霉菌属、分支杆菌属以及十字花科黑腐病菌等细菌中的功能。阐述了ω亚基对抗生素的合成、形态变异以及生物膜形成的影响,参与了细胞内鸟苷四磷酸(ppGpp)水平的调节。
