Tunneling electron–phonon spectral function, quasi-particle dispersion relations, and damping rates

Quasi-particle dispersion relation, its isotope shift, and a damping rate were calculated using a spectral function of the electron-phonon (e-ph) interaction determined by our tunneling study for slightly overdoped Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8. These results are compared with the results from photoelectron and optical conductivity studies, and indicate the substantial role of an e-ph interaction for the occurrence of high-T-c superconductivity as well as its limitations.
