Comparative study of the immunological properties of galactosyldiglyceride and galactosylceramide included within natural membranes.

Beta d galactosyldiglyceride and beta d galactosylceramide are important membrane constituents, the first within the envelope of the chloroplast and the thylakoids membrane, the second, within the myelin. These two galactolipids present an antigenic cross reactivity which one can easily demonstrate by complement fixation reactions with correctly activated isolated haptens.
