Local investigation of the atmospheric turbulence

Summary  A method is described for the statistical analysis of fluctuating processes, which includes a criterion for the choice of the averaging time, that is of the best duration of the measurements of the quantity to be averaged. The method is applied to the determination of the temperature structure function in the atmosphere at near ground levels. Some results are reported and discussed.
