Research of A New Soil Moisture Sensor

As the development of precision irrigation,it becomes more important to measure soil water content rapidly.Techniques based on the measurement of the dielectric constant of the soil are becoming increasingly popular now.In this paper,the soil moisture sensor designed on the principle of standing-wave was used in laboratory trials.Trials demonstrated that there is a distinct influence as to the probe configuration.Soil types have limited impact on measurement result.So the sensor works stable and reliable,with high accuracy and good linearity,and can measure moisture for most of the soil types.
