Development of Silicon Pad Sensors for a Silicon-Tungsten Calorimeter in High Energy Heavy Ion Experiment
JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY(2009)
摘要
Silicon pad sensors measuring the energy deposits of particles in calorimeter showers have been designed and fabricated for Hie silicon-tungsten calorimeter to be used in the upgraded Pioneering High Energy Nuclear Interaction Experiment heavy ion experiment. The pad sensor is all array of 4 x 4 pixels in an active area of about 6 cm x 6 cm with three surrounding guardrings The details of the design and of the fabrication process and the electrical characteristics of the sensors are discussed, including the test result obtained with a high-energy beam.
