A New Substrate for Ablation: Multiple Focal Atrial Tachycardias in a Healthy Adult Population

Introduction: Multifocal atrial tachycardia is associated with significant cardiovascular and respiratory disease, and is often thought to be the prelude to AF. In such cases patients may not be offered ablation therapy. We believe there is a population of patients with more than one focus for sustained and non-competing AT that may benefit from radiofrequency ablation. We characterized the demographics, tachycardia data, and outcome of patients with successful ablation of more than one focal AT.
