XTReSy: A Text Retrieval System for XML documents

XML (eXtensible Markup Language) is a very versatile and expressive markup language, capable of labelling the information content of diverse data sources. Its growing diffusion has necessarily caused to development tools in order to consult, to query and to elaborate these documents. This paper briefly describes a system that supports some of the typical characteristics of XML data-oriented and document- oriented databases, and new special features that may be applied in various fields, such as historical, literary, linguistic, legal and medical.
