Abstract
Domestic cats do not eliminate (defecation and urination) voluntarily, being the behavior of elimination controlled during the first weeks after the birth for the anogenital reflex. Front to the hypothesis of that apocrin glands could be involved in modulation of the behavior of anogenital licking showed by the queen and directed to her young through the release of quimiosensori ais substances. It was aimed to register the occurrence or not of this behavior in the intervals of close observation, and so, the distribution of frequency of this behavior after the application of lipofilic solvent in the anogenital region of the kittens in 7º day after the partum, when compared to queens from young not submitted the treatment. It was observed that the queens had not shown signals of avoiding the kittens or discomfort front to the application of lipofilic solvent. However, it was not registered the execution of the anogenital licking suggesting that the odor from anogenital region, and not the region, primarily determines and modulates the behavior of anogenital licking showed for the queens and directed to its young in 7º day after the partum.
