High Br− content nano-crystallized transparent fluorozirconate glasses
Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids(2003)
摘要
The incorporation of high Br− ion contents (up to 10% Br−/F−) in fluorozirconate glasses has been investigated and the influence on devitrification, crystallization behavior and optical properties determined. It was found that high Br− incorporation induces phase separation and crystallization during heat treatment such that a nano-scale crystallite phase, tentatively identified as BaBr2, is precipitated within the glass. These nano-precipitates are of interest in the preparation of optical materials such as photostimulated luminescent (PSL) phosphors. The high Br− content glasses also provide a better matrix for the incorporation of other more effective dopants currently under study to improve optical and PSL attributes.
