Retroperitoneoscopy-assisted total nephroureterectomy combined with transurethral extraction of the ureter

We describe the performance of retroperitoneoscopy-assisted total nephroureterectomy, combined with transurethral extraction of the ureter, in a patient with renal pelvic cancer. There were no significant complications during or after the operation. After follow-up for 14 months, there has been no local recurrence of the tumour. Our technique may be advantageous for patients with early renal pelvic and upper ureteral cancer because it is minimally invasive.
