Abstract
We report a functional characterisation of the novel protein MGC 13096. MGC 13096 over-expression restrained proliferation of HEK293T cells. DNA/flow cytometry analysis showed that the over-expression of MGC 13096 severely delays cell cycle progression at S phase. Transcription factors such as activator protein-1 (AP-1), cAMP response element binding protein (CREB), nuclear factor of activated T cells (NFAT), NF-kappa B, signal transducer and activator of transcription 1 (STAT1) took part in the process.
