Abstract
Formation of folds positioned perpendicular to the axis of the fibre onthe surfade of Armos fibre in the first stage of spinning was demonstrated by scanning electron microscopy. In the intermediate stages of spinning, the transverse folds are transformed into longitudinal intersecting grooves. The formation of transverse folds is not a funcito nof the nature and composition fo the precipitant. An incrsae in die drawing causes the disappearance of the folds in the first stage of spinning, but the intersedting grooves persist on the sruface of the fibre. The finished Armos fibre has a characteristic surface structure represented by intersecting grooves positioned along the axis fo the fibre.
