Principle analysis of pass schedule calculation for plate mills

Pass schedule calculation is the basis for automatic rolling. This paper introduces the principle of pass schedule calculation for plate mills and its related plan view pattern control ( PVPC) technologies,including sequence division of the rolling process and calculation of target thickness for each sequence,calculation of target values related to PVPC,design of pass reduction,calculation of set values on corresponding points of each pass and etc. A method of pass design is then put forward to achieve good rectangularity by taking into consideration the requirements of plan view pattern control during sequence division and changing the target thickness of the plate head and tail to compensate for the elongation difference between the center and edge of the plate.
