Abstract
Negative magnetoresistance (nm) is observed at ≈70≤H≤135kG and 1.2≤T≤4.2K in amorphous alloys T e (1− x ) T ℓ ( x ) [where T e = Ti , Zr ; T ℓ = Cu , Ni ] and in Aℓ(0.95)Mn(0.05). For T e T ℓ alloys, The negative slopes ∂ϱ/∂H at T =1.2 K , H =135 kG , do not correlate with the spin-orbit-coupling parameter 〈(Ze 2 /ħc) 4 〈, contrary to expectations based on electron-localization theories of nm. The similarity of nm in the prototype high-characteristic-temperature AℓMn to that in T e T ℓ alloys suggests the operation of similar physical mechanisms.
